Parowan Safari

By now we were pretty exhausted.  12.7 hours of flying in two days. I just got a new appreciation for contest pilots where they do this kind of flying for a whole week or longer!

We decided to take it easy today and do a sight-seeing from the air. Rolf graciously accepted to be our aerial tour guide.

After take off and initial climb, we flew over Brian Head and then on to Cedar Break National Monument. A few pictures from this trip are posted in the aerial photo gallery if you are interested. This area is absolutely amazing, the pictures don’t even come close to showing the beauty of the place.

After we played around over Cedar Break, we headed back toward Parowan and then cut across toward Bryce Canyon. Given how rugged the terrain was in this area, I was more than happy to watch it from 17800’!  So, the pictures don’t really show much of the beautiful canyons.

At this point Rolf and Matt wanted to go toward Escalante but I was really starting to feel tired so I headed back toward Parowan.

Third day of flying and I had a short 4 hour, 251km, aerial tour of the area.  But I have to admit, by then I was happy to be on the ground...

Sight-seeing
